Amble between the cluster of former fishermen’s cabins on la Marmotiere and walk over huge sand bars, which are submerged under many metres of ocean twice a day.
Experience a nature of extremes, remarkable birds as well as fascinating plants and creatures of the sea in a bizare landscape.
Perhaps see dolphins en-route to the archipelago or a seal close to the reef.
Les Ecrehous are a hidden treasure mid-way between France and Jersey, a site of unique interest, protected as an international Ramsar wetland site.
The charter boat remains in contact throughout the tour.

A good agility is required, e.g climbing down a 3ft ladder and walking over bolder strewn areas.
Good footwear and clothing suitable for the weather forecast is essential.

Protecting les Ecrehous
Les Ecrehous is a very special place and is an internationally designated Ramsar wetlands site.
In order to minimise any accidental disturbance you will be accompanied by a guide, who is Wild Life Safe (WiSe) and first aid trained. Our guides have considerable knowledge of marine life and history of the offshore reefs and inter tidal zone. During the crossing and walk they will be able to provide you with information about Les Ecrehous.
Please read the les Ecrehous Sea bird protection zone information sheet and follow the advice of the guide. The seals at les Ecrehous are wild creatures. They should not be fed.
Les Ecrehous is a small community. The cabins are privately owned and residents and visitors come to Les Ecrehous to enjoy the peace and tranquility. Please respect this. We ask that our clients refrain from behaviour that might cause disturbance.
All waste must be taken back to Jersey. There is no toilet facilities on Les Ecrehous.
The charter boat trip to les Ecrehous
The voyage to Les Ecrehous is on La Duchesse de Normandie, a 40ft motor cruiser with inside and outside seating for 10 people. The vessel is insured and certified for commercial charters and skippered by Steve Luce.
There is a toilet on board.
The crossing time is approximately 35minutes.
At Les Ecrehous you will be transferred ashore by tender with your guide.
Weather conditions
Trips will operate if rain is forecast so bring suitable clothing for the weather conditions.
Strong wind forecasts will lead to cancellation of the trip.
We will offer alternative dates or a refund.

Late arrivals
If you are late we will not wait.
Refunds are not possible if you cancel less than seven working days before the trip or miss the boat.
